What this is

JSOC Shop is a small, veteran-run shop. We make shirts about things that happened.

Most military apparel is either a logo on a blank or a slogan someone wrote in a marketing meeting. The designs here start from a specific event, a specific phrase, or a specific piece of the culture — the Mogadishu Mile, Eagle Claw, a night jump, two letters of the phonetic alphabet that mean something particular to the people who use them. If you know what one refers to, that's the point. If you don't, each design has a story and we're steadily writing them down.

What this isn't

We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or licensed by the Department of Defense, any command, or any unit. Nobody has approved this. No part of what you pay reaches any government organization. The name is ours, the designs are ours, and the shop is unofficial in the plain sense of the word.

We say that up front because the alternative — letting people assume otherwise — would be trading on something we have no right to trade on.

Who's behind it

I served.

That's most of what you need to know, and it's most of what I'm going to say. The shop isn't about me — if it were, the designs would be about me, and they aren't. They're about things that happened to other people, most of whom I've never met.

What I'll say instead is why the sourcing matters here. Most apparel in this space plays fast with history. Dates drift. Casualty figures get rounded up because the bigger number lands harder. Quotes get attributed to whoever is most famous. None of it is malicious and all of it adds up to a genre the people who were actually there have learned to skip past.

So we don't do that. Every design refers to something specific, and we've written up what we can actually support — dates, places, and the disagreements left in. Where the record is unclear we say so instead of picking the better story. Where we've been wrong, we've changed it and said we changed it.

That's a slower way to sell shirts. It's the only version of this worth making.

How the shirts are made

Print-on-demand. Nothing is printed until you order it, which is why there's no warehouse full of unsold 3XLs and why we can offer designs that would never justify a minimum run. It also means production takes a few days before anything ships — the real timeline is on every product page and on Shipping & Returns, and we'd rather tell you than have it be a surprise.

Blanks are Bella+Canvas and Gildan. Sizing runs true to those brands, not to ours — measurements for every garment we sell are on the Size Guide.

Custom and unit orders

We do custom work: unit shirts, hail-and-farewells, PT shirts, deployment and retirement runs, reunions, team orders. If you need forty of something with a specific date on it, that's a normal request here, not an unusual one. Get in touch and tell us what you need, how many, and when you need it by.
